What is Net Metering?
Net metering allows your solar system to export excess electricity back to the grid. Your DISCOM installs a bidirectional meter that records both import (from grid) and export (to grid) units.
How Your Bill is Calculated
📊 Net Bill = Units Consumed – Units Exported
You only pay for the net units used from the grid.
Example — Ratlam Customer
| Detail | Units |
|---|---|
| Units consumed from grid | 200 units |
| Solar generated | 300 units |
| Solar used directly | 150 units |
| Exported to grid | 150 units |
| Net bill (200-150) | 50 units only! |
Export Rate in MP
MPPKVVCL pays approximately ₹2.65–₹3.50 per unit exported, credited against your bill. Excess credits can be carried forward for up to 12 months.
