What is PM Surya Ghar Yojana?
PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana is India's largest rooftop solar scheme launched in 2024. It provides direct subsidies to households installing rooftop solar systems.

Eligibility
- Residential property owner with valid electricity connection
- Must have DISCOM (MPPKVVCL) consumer number
- Roof area of at least 10 sq.ft per kW
- No previous solar subsidy claimed
How to Apply — Step by Step
- Visit pmsuryaghar.gov.in and register with Aadhaar + mobile number
- Enter your DISCOM consumer number (on your electricity bill)
- Get feasibility approval from DISCOM (2–7 days)
- Choose an empaneled vendor like Kalash Energy
- Installation happens (1–2 days)
- Apply for net meter through the portal
- Inspection by DISCOM engineer
- Subsidy credited directly to your bank account (30–45 days)

Who can get the PM Surya Ghar subsidy?
A residential property owner whose electricity connection is in their own name. Tenants cannot apply unless the DISCOM connection is in their name.
Do I get more than ₹78,000 for a 5 kW or 10 kW system?
No. ₹78,000 is the maximum central subsidy. Any home system of 3 kW or above gets the same ₹78,000 (slabs as of September 2026).

Log in at pmsuryaghar.gov.in with your registered mobile number. DISCOM approval, installation and subsidy payment status are all shown there.
